Based on the government’s official tally, the damage caused by tropical cyclones Crising, Dante, and Emong, and the intensified southwest monsoon, has reached P12.84 billion to the country’s agriculture and infrastructure.

In the latest report released by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) today, August 1, there was recorded damage to agriculture worth PHP2.25 billion, while there was damage to infrastructure worth PHP10.59 billion.

The NDRRMC also noted that a total of 77,798 farmers and fisherfolk in the country were severely affected by the severe weather.

There was also an estimated 6,707 homes destroyed, and a total of 48,843 homes suffered damage.

The council also reported that the number of affected families has reached 2,272,696, consisting of 8,263,199 people, living in 8,503 barangays in 17 regions nationwide.

Currently, 27,516 families are staying in 950 evacuation centers, while 31,062 families have sought refuge with relatives or friends.

There are also 37 individuals reported dead, of which only two have been confirmed dead so far.
