Vance Boelter, 57, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of shooting dead the Democratic leader of the Minnesota state House and her husband, and other injured lawmakers, including his wife. He confessed to the crimes in a handwritten letter to FBI Director Kash Patel, but gave no reason why he targeted the couple, prosecutors said.

Boelter also said Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz approached him with a request to murder two U.S. state senators, fellow Democrats Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith.

However, when a reporter asked if the whole thing was a fantasy, the acting U.S. Attorney Joseph Thompson responded and agreed. (Yes, I agree.)

As Thompson stated, there is little evidence and motive to show why the person engaged in political violence and extremism through the letters he left behind, including Minnesota politicians, lists of politicians in other states, and lists of names of lawyers and national law firms.
