After four years of distance in the boxing ring, Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has finally returned, bringing a riveting comeback phrase, “passion and determination.”

Pacquiao, 46 years old, shares his disciplined training regimen, which he believes is the root of his chances of victory and defeating World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight champion Mario Barrios, which will be held today, July 20, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Barrios, on the other hand, is known for his effective counterpunch and was in the top tier of his boxing career.

In addition to being 16 years younger than Pacquiao, Barrios, often referred to as “El Azteca,” is seven inches taller than Pacquiao.

After putting Ugas down twice, the Mexican-American won his title by a unanimous decision in 2023. He defeated Fabian Maidana twice in 2024 to reclaim his title, and he most recently drew with Abel Ramos on the same card as the November Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson bout.

When Pacquiao last competed, he threw a lot of punches and lost to Cuba’s Yordenis Ugas by unanimous decision in late 2021.

In an interview with The Times at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, Pacquiao (62-8-2, 39 KOs) stated, “It’s my passion, and the fire in my heart in my mind is still there.” “I can still fight and put in a lot of effort in training.”
