Filipino-Canadian tennis star Leylah Fernandez showed off her skills after defeating Russian Anna Kalinskaya in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, to win the DC Open title on Sunday.

The victory was Fernandez’s first WTA 500 title and first championship since 2023. The match lasted just over an hour, with her dominating the entire match.

After defeating top seed Jessica Pegula and former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, Fernandez won her fourth WTA title of her career.

Fernandez also won the first set easily in 30 minutes while in the second set, she also quickly took the lead and closed the match on her second match point.

Fernandez will next compete at the WTA 1000 Canadian Open in Montreal, where the challenge is said to be more difficult.
