A man identified as the man responsible for the shooting death of Ricardo Igot inside an internet café in Cebu City on July 15 is now dead.
The suspect, Jaymark Arnais, a resident of Barangay Suba, died after a shootout with police officers in the said barangay today, July 16, 2025.
According to the police, operatives from the Sawang Calero Police Station – Stations Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) in Barangay Suba conducted an in-depth intelligence and follow-up operation, as Arnais was identified as one of the men responsible for Igot’s killing, and when authorities spots the suspect, immediately approached him to arrest.
However, instead of surrendering, he suddenly opened fire, causing a police officer to pull the trigger.
As a result, other officers returned fire, leading to the death of Arnais.
The injured policeman, a patrolman from the SDEU, was quickly taken to the hospital and is now out of danger.
