The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) has confirmed that debris or parts of a Chinese Long March 12 rocket fell into Philippine waters near Palawan last night, August 4, 2025.
The debris fell within 21 nautical miles of Puerto Princesa and 18 nautical miles from Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park, areas covered by the country’s exclusive economic zone.
In this regard, the agency once again warned the public against the dangers of rocket debris being thrown by China.
In the event that it is detected and found, the public is advised not to touch or collect any debris because it contains toxic substances such as rocket fuel, and it is better to immediately inform the authorities if they find such types.
