Malacañang has defended the criticisms of many for not mentioning the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on the crackdown on online gambling.
According to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, she said the President was in no hurry because he had carefully studied the proposal to completely ban online gambling.
Because it is clear, the revenue the government gets from licensed online gambling sites is a great help to the people.
Castro gave the example of former President Rodrigo Duterte’s ban on online cockfighting but illegal online cockfighting sites still flourished.
It is worth remembering that several bills have already been filed in the Senate and many groups including the church have called for the complete elimination of online gambling because many lives have been ruined by this vice.
