Xennia May Rabay Dangaton, Lorie May Rabaya Dangaton, and Eva May Dangaton, from Jose Rizal Memorial State University, Tampilisan campus, elegantly unveiled their triumphs and acknowledged the pivotal people who fueled their achievements.
Born to a farmer-turned-electrician father in Manila and a devoted housewife, the Dangaton triplets are the first in their family to earn college degrees. They proudly credit their parents as the foundation of their success.
Even as elementary students, the Dangaton sisters were academic achievers. While they didn’t consider themselves the absolute best, they dedicated themselves to their studies. This commitment was a tribute to their parents, who instilled in them the profound value of education.
OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
The triplets grew up in a mountainous area of Brgy. Mabini, Titay, Zamboanga, far from convenient amenities. This posed significant challenges for their parents, particularly financially, as they relied solely on their father’s income. Raising and educating three children simultaneously put a strain on the family’s resources. Some might wonder why their parents didn’t send them to school one at a time, but the Dangaton household was built on the principle of no favoritism.
Their parents raised them with unwavering fairness, a lesson the sisters embraced. This upbringing taught them the importance of mutual support and the mantra of “no one left behind.” Their educational journey was far from easy given their family’s financial situation. However, graduating, regardless of honors, was a deeply held value for them and their family, especially in a household where education was so highly prized.
A PATH CHOSEN
The Dangaton sisters chose to pursue a Bachelor of Science with a major in Financial Management. This decision was a practical one, as they wanted to build upon their senior high school studies in the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) track. They believed it would be a waste of their accumulated knowledge and learning to choose a completely different field. | Bombo Irene Ardiente
