The Philippines has been selected to host the FIBA ​​​​​​Women’s Asia Cup in 2027.

FIBA ​​Executive Director-Asia Hagop Khajirian said they are excited to return to the Philippines for the FIBA ​​​​​​Asia event, which will be the first time the Philippines will host a continental-level basketball event since 2013.

Khaijirian added that they believe that hosting the FIBA ​​​​​​Women’s Asia Cup in the Philippines will help them promote more interest in the game of women’s basketball.

Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas president Al Panlilio also said they are delighted that the Philippines has been selected to host the FIBA ​​​​​​Women’s Asia Cup 2027.

He said that since then, they have been working closely with FIBA ​​​​​​to prioritize the growth of women’s basketball.
