The Department of Justice has stated that they are fair in the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of the sabungeros.

Following the involvement of some personalities such as gaming business tycoon Charlie ‘Atong’ Ang, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla assured that their investigation will be fair and impartial.

Meanwhile, he assured that the complaints filed by the relatives of the missing sabungeros in their office will go through ‘due process’.

Yesterday, they formally filed a complaint of ‘murder’ and ‘serious illegal detention’ against the respondents Charlie ‘Atong’ Ang and some of his associates.

“Fair naman tayo, hindi naman tayo ano eh, we do not condemn without listening. Ang mahalaga due process diba. No person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law. Life, liberty or property”, Secretary Jesus Crispin ‘Boying’ Remulla of the Department of Justice said.

Secretary Remulla also stated that the processing of complaints filed by the Department of Justice will not be immediate, as it is still undergoing an ‘evaluation’ or thorough investigation because there are still details that need to be clarified regarding the complaint.

He also insisted that the Department of Justice will thoroughly examine the testimonies of witnesses who came forward and even the statements shared by the complainants.

Therefore, the current secretary of the department admitted that the process to solve the disappearance of the sabangeros is still long.

Although he admitted that it will not be immediate, he promised that they will not release them until the case is over.

Currently, businessman Charlie Ating Ang and others are facing a complaint of ‘murder’ and ‘serious illegal detention’ filed by the relatives of the missing sabangeros with the Department of Justice.

It is worth remembering that Atong Ang has denied his involvement in the aforementioned issue.

Therefore, the DOJ is still conducting its case buildup or investigation, just to find out the truth behind the disappearance of the victims.
