The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is ready to distribute relief supplies amid the expected rainy season.

Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao of the Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) said there are enough prepositioned family food packs (s) in the agency’s warehouses nationwide.

Approximately three million FFPs will be distributed immediately, in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure that no one goes hungry during calamities.

The DSWD Field Offices in NCR, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, and Eastern Visayas are also on high alert, and are coordinating with local governments for immediate assistance.

According to the state weather bureau on Tuesday, August 26, heavy rains, flooding, and landslides are expected due to a low pressure area (LPA) sighted off the coast of Siruma, Camarines Sur.
