Gilas Pilipinas coach Tim Cone assured that their exhibition game against Jordan will be intense before they face off in the FIBA Asia Cup to be held in Saudi Arabia.
According to Cone, their match on August 2 will be the last before the FIBA Asia Cup starts on August 5.
The last time they faced Jordan was in the gold medal match of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, where the Philippines won, 70-60.
Gilas Pilipinas will take advantage of the absence of former NBA player and PBA import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.
Although Hollis-Jefferson is listed in Jordan’s final 12, she will not be included in their exhibition game.
Jordan is in Group C with China, India and Saudi Arabia while Gilas Pilipinas is in Group D with New Zealand, Chinese Taipei and Iraq.
