Pope Leo XIV has once again appealed to the global community for peace to end the nearly two-year conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The Pope urged the steadfastness and achievement of a permanent ceasefire, the release of hostages still being held in Gaza, and the provision of humanitarian aid to those affected by the unrest in the area.

During his weekly audience at the Vatican, he issued a strong appeal to end the conflict in the Holy Land, which has caused so much terror and death.

The Pope also pleaded that all hostages be released, that a permanent ceasefire be reached, that the safe entry of humanitarian aid be facilitated, and that international humanitarian law be fully respected.

It is worth noting that Pope Leo had previously called on Israel to allow more humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.
