Confirmed: The Philippine National Police has verified that bones discovered inside a sack pulled from Taal Lake in Talisay, Batangas, are indeed human.
PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre II stated this confirmation came from the initial findings of their PNP experts. He also noted that animal bones might be mixed in with the human remains found in the area.
Out of five sacks recovered from Taal Lake, all are still undergoing close examination by authorities.
The bones have been transferred to the forensic group. They’ll conduct DNA cross-matching with samples provided by families of missing cockfight enthusiasts, known as “sabungeros.”
To date, 12 families of missing sabungeros have provided their DNA samples for this crucial cross-matching process.
