Nadia Montenegro has resigned from her position as political affairs officer VI in the office of Senator Robinhood Padilla, where Padilla also accepted Montenegro’s intention, and this was confirmed by Atty. Rudolph Jurado on August 18.

In an official statement from Padilla’s office, Montenegro submitted her written explanation and letter of resignation in response to two memorandums and incident reports regarding the report that a senator’s staff was allegedly caught using marijuana in the Senate.

In the context of the actress’s statement, she strongly denied using marijuana.

In the incident report, it emerged that on July and August 12, 2025, a smell similar to marijuana was detected in the comfort room.

She claimed that she used the PWD comfort room and not the ladies’ comfort room as specified, and that she only had a grape-flavored vape with her at the time.

Montenegro criticized the media coverage of the incident report for causing embarrassment, negative public opinion, and mockery of her family.

However, she clarified that she resigned from her position to protect her mental health and to show respect to the Senate and Padilla so that the issue would not escalate, and not that she resigned, because she was guilty of the issue imposed on her.

Nevertheless, Nadia still thanked the senator, those who supported her and gave her the opportunity to explain her side.
