Praised for his heroic heart, rescue volunteer Ramon Singson was honored by Toledo City Mayor Marjorie Perales after he died while serving others.

Singson passed away due to septic shock which he got after helping in the search and retrieval operations at the Binaliw landfill.

Mayor Perales described Singson as a very active and dedicated person who loved helping the public. Aside from being a volunteer, he was also a Philippine Army reservist with the rank of sergeant and worked in the security department of Carmen Copper Corporation.

“Usa sa pinaka kugihan. Usa sa pinaka abtik ug aduna’y dakong gugma sa pagpanerbisyo sa katawhan. Sir Singson is a Phil Army Reservist with a rank of sergeant, kauban ni sila ni Konsehal Amiboy. Naa ni siya nagtrabaho sa security department sa Carmen Copper Corporation,” she posted.

The mayor thanked Singson for all his hard work, especially in Barangay Lutopan and the other places he served. She noted how big his help was during the difficult operations at the Binaliw landfill.

“Salamat kaayo sa imohang natabang Sir Ramon Singson, dili lang sa Brgy. Lutopan, kundi sa mga lugar nga imohang giserbisyohan, ilabi na sa pagtabang nimo sa Binaliw Landfill retrieval operation,” Perales added.

Mayor Perales also sent her deepest sympathies and prayers to Singson’s wife, children, and the rest of his family during this time.
