The suspect who allegedly killed a 48-year-old driver he was riding with, Dexter “Dandan” Nanong, who was found dead in Sitio Tagaytay, Brgy. Kalunasan, Cebu City, on the morning of October 12, 2025, has been arrested.
The suspect, identified as Kirk Blash Monteron Amasa, 21 years old, a construction worker, and a resident of V. Aranas Ext. Barangay Duljo Fatima, Cebu City, was arrested by police officers yesterday evening, Tuesday, October 14, at Brgy. Kamputhaw, Cebu City.
Initial investigation has not yet determined the reason for the suspect’s motive for the crime he committed.
Meanwhile, in an interview with the Bombo Radyo Cebu team, PCOL. Enrico Evangelista Figueroa, the City Director of the Cebu City Police Office, explained that they conducted a Hot Pursuit Operation using CCTV footage, where authorities monitored the CCTV footage and saw that the victim and suspect were chatting for a short time, but Dexter’s motorcycle was stolen shortly after, and the crime was committed there.
The suspect, Kirk, also admitted that he was paid three thousand pesos to commit the crime, along with the promise that he would store the stolen motorcycle.
Amasa is currently in police custody and is facing a murder case. Meanwhile, authorities have not ruled out the possibility of additional charges against this suspect as their investigation continues.
